Wow, just thinking about the chaos and fear during that night is chilling. June 16, 2013, was such a tragic example of the struggles facing the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood — and Chicago as a whole back then. I can't imagine what Todd Woods' family went through when they got that call, or how they must feel knowing he was just out enjoying what should have been a normal night at a club. It's devastating how gun violence disrupted those lives. I always wonder how communities cope with these repeated tragedies — seeing it labeled as "Bloody Sunday" in the news must be so painful and frustrating for those who are trying to make the neighborhood safer. I desperately hope for continued efforts to tackle these issues and bring some peace to Todd Woods' family and others affected by such senseless acts.
