I can't stop thinking about the bravery Matthew showed that night. It's incredibly tragic that a man who devoted his life to protecting those he cared for was taken from us in such a horrendous way. I've been following this case closely, and it just reminds me of how precious our time is with our loved ones. I've read that Matthew's cousin, who thankfully survived, was key in leading the police to Jerome Deshawn Misters. I can't imagine the courage it took for him to recount the incident so soon after such a terrifying ordeal. I hope people continue to support Perkins' family as they navigate through this incredibly difficult time. This kind of loss leaves a lasting impact, and the love and strength of the community can be crucial.
