I can't stop thinking about the isolation Loretta must have experienced in those last weeks or months. Living on a large rural property with someone who increasingly cut her off from the outside world must have felt incredibly lonely. It’s chilling to think how Robert's control and hatred towards her family went unnoticed—often, the most dangerous signs are hidden in plain sight. I wish there had been a way for someone, anyone, to see the situation for what it was before it escalated to this. My heart goes out to Loretta's family—her friends, too, who might have had no idea what she was silently enduring. Please, if you ever suspect someone might be in a controlling relationship, reach out to them. It could make all the difference.
