I've been following Dr. George Tiller's case and something that's been on my mind is the impact on the local church community where the tragedy happened. Reformation Lutheran Church must have been a place where folks came together for support and guidance, so having something this traumatic occur in such a sacred space must have shaken everyone to their core. It's heartbreaking to think about the congregation, including the children who were present, witnessing such violence. I hope there was counseling and support available to help them process what happened. Church should be a safe haven, and I can't imagine how it must feel to return there after such an event. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act.
Hey all, I’ve been reading up on the tragic murder of Dr. Tiller, and I keep finding myself thinking about the incredible courage of those two individuals who tried to step in after the shot was fired. It must have been an unimaginably terrifying moment, yet their instinct was to protect others. It's easy to focus on the awful act, but it’s also important to acknowledge the bravery that emerged amidst such chaos. I cannot imagine how hard that day must have been for everyone at the church, not to mention the emotional toll on Dr. Tiller’s family and loved ones. Their loss is unimaginable. Sending out thoughts of strength and healing to them. What do you all make of those who were there, like the two interventionists?
