Benjamin Godwin, a 35-year-old man from Freeport, Florida, went missing on December 3, 2024. He was last seen launching his boat in Choctawhatchee Bay. That evening, he called his wife to inform her that his boat was taking on water. Despite the efforts of his family and a multi-agency search team, including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Dive Team, Benjamin's body was later recovered from the bay.
