I've been thinking about the long-lasting impact that David Scott Gogian's tragic death has had on the Topeka community and especially on those who knew and loved him. It's just hard to wrap my mind around the fact that someone who dedicated his life to serving and protecting others could have it taken away so suddenly. I can't imagine the pain his family must feel, especially around this time of year when the anniversary approaches. David was not just an officer; he was a veteran who had already given so much in service to his country. If anyone here is from the area or has personal stories of interactions with Officer Gogian, maybe sharing those memories can help remind us of the positive impact he had during his life. My thoughts are with his family and the colleagues who lost a dear friend and leader.
