I keep wondering about Nicholas Rice's mindset after the crash. The fact that he injured his ankle and stayed near the canyon while his friend went for help really intrigues me. Was it just the injury that kept him there? It feels odd that with such an injury, he'd choose to stay rather than attempt to manage the pain and follow more slowly. This makes me question if there was some other reason for him to remain behind. Did they possibly overlook something important in the car when they ran off? Could he have felt they needed to hide from someone or something? The uncertainty surrounding his decision to stay put makes this case all the more puzzling to me.
