On 02/16/2020 Nicholas Rice crashed his vehicle northbound on I-17 about one mile north of Sunset Point Rest Stop. Nicholas and his front seat passenger fled the scene of the crash to the east entering a large open field. The two continued east where they stopped at the edge of a large canyon near a mine. The passenger of the vehicle said Nicholas had injured his ankle during the crash and could no longer continue.
