I can't stop thinking about Rowan Padgett's future that was just starting to take shape before it was cruelly snatched away. It's so upsetting to see a young life, filled with promise, end so needlessly. At 17, he had his whole life ahead of him, ready to launch into adulthood with job offers in sales and a high school graduation around the corner. Those opportunities are dreams so many strive for, and it sounds like Rowan had the creativity and drive to really make something of his life. He seems like the kind of kid whose presence was cherished by his friends and family. It must be devastating for them, knowing they’ll never get to see what Rowan would have accomplished. I hope they find some comfort and support during this unimaginably difficult time. The justice system can seem complicated, especially when involving minors like the suspect, but I do hope the process helps to eventually bring some peace to those who love Rowan. Keeping his memory alive and advocating against violence feels like an important way to honor him.
