I’ve been following the case of Armando Villa-Rosale, and it’s absolutely devastating what his family is going through. I read that he was a student at 500 Reach, and I can't help but feel for his classmates and teachers who must be dealing with such a heavy loss. It’s troubling to think about how this senseless act of violence has affected the entire school community and how they’re coping with the emptiness left behind. I hope the school is offering grief counseling or some sort of support to help everyone process this tragedy. It’s so important for his peers to have a space to talk and heal together. Has anyone heard anything about how the school is handling this or if there are any community initiatives to support the students during this time?
It’s been over three years now, and I can’t shake the feeling of wanting justice for Armando Villa-Rosale. I still remember reading about the night of July 19, 2020, and thinking about how senseless this act of violence was. Something I’ve been thinking about is how difficult it must have been for the other young person in the car. Survivor's guilt is such a heavy burden, and to go through something so traumatic at a young age is unimaginable.
