Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about how social media played a role in the tragic case of Laurie Leanne Likins. It's really sad to think that sometimes we might overlook subtle cries for help that appear on our feeds. The acquaintance who reached out clearly did the right thing, but it made me wonder how often we dismiss posts as just "venting" without understanding the gravity behind them.
I imagine it must be incredibly difficult for Laurie's loved ones to grapple with the fact that these messages existed and perhaps went unnoticed by others. It's a reminder that we should all pay a bit more attention to these signs, even if they're fleeting or seem insignificant. I hope those affected by this tragedy are finding some support during such a difficult time.
Has anyone else thought about how social media could be used more effectively to prevent tragedies? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Stay safe, everyone.
