I've been thinking a lot about James Exavier "Bam Bam" Richardson's tragic passing and how it highlights the ongoing issue of violence affecting young people in our communities. It’s just so devastating to lose someone at only 17, with so much potential and promise ahead of him. It's clear that James made a huge positive impact, not just on the field as an athlete, but within his community too. I read about the funeral service at Paramount Baptist Church, and I can imagine how emotional that must have been for everyone who loved him. It’s times like these that truly test the strength of a community, and I hope those around his family can support them as they navigate such an unthinkable loss. What’s really tough is that there doesn’t seem to be much clarity around the circumstances of his death. It must be incredibly frustrating and painful for his family not to have answers.
