It’s truly devastating to think about the kind of impact this tragedy had on the Lexington Park community. Frank Kohler was more than just a dedicated professional; he was a pillar in his community, contributing positively through his role in the Rotary Club. It’s apparent from everything I’ve read and heard that he touched many lives in significant ways. Sometimes, hearing about a single person in these larger events really brings home the personal loss felt by families and friends. My heart goes out to everyone struggling with Frank’s loss and those who still find themselves grappling with the aftermath. It's sobering to reflect on how vulnerable places should be, if any, and the necessary balance between safety and accessibility. How do you continue with day-to-day life after something so senseless? This incident has certainly left its mark on all who knew Frank or were part of the Navy Yard community.
