It's deeply distressing to think about Ricky Kelly's children and the trauma they must have endured. That morning, as he was planning to take them to school, his life was senselessly taken away from them. The fact that they were so close to witnessing such violence is unimaginably concerning. It's moments like these that make you wonder how a person can come back from such a tragic beginning to their day. Community resources for trauma counseling and support have to be a priority for families affected by such violence. My heart goes out to those kids and to everyone who loved Ricky. I hope they are surrounded by love and support as they navigate this difficult time.
