It's been weighing heavy on me how often we hear stories about incidents like what happened to William Thomas Wilson Jr. I'm not here to speculate too much since none of us were there, but it seems like the approach taken by the security officer is something we need to scrutinize closely. Does anyone else feel like there were probably other ways to defuse the situation safely? Especially in a busy area like Union Station where things could easily spiral. My heart goes out to Wilson's family, especially his sister, who must be going through so much right now. Honestly, understanding mental health and conflict management should be a bigger priority in training situations like these. We can only hope that some real reflection will come out of this, and maybe lead to changes in how these situations are handled in the future so more lives aren’t unnecessarily lost.
