I recently came across a post about the tragic shooting of Matthew Thomas, and it really struck me how vibrant and supportive the community has been. Writing from the perspective of someone who's heart goes out to his family and friends, I can't help but feel there must be more witnesses who saw something that day. It happened in the middle of the afternoon—surely someone remembers details or heard something. I wonder if local businesses in that area have been approached about sharing any CCTV footage or if any witnesses might just not realize the importance of even the smallest observations. Every time I walk past a security camera, it's a reminder that so much in our lives is captured on tape. If even one camera captured something useful, it might be the key to finding those responsible for taking Matthew away from his loved ones. Please, if anyone reading this might remember being in the vicinity of Stanton Road on that day in March 2018, even if you think it’s insignificant, reach out to the authorities. Any piece of information could be what breaks this case open after so much time has passed. The community deserves closure and Matthew deserves justice.
