Has anyone else noticed how quiet the area around the 5300 block of D Street SE has been since the tragedy? While I don’t live far from there, I've walked through that neighborhood a couple of times in the past few months, and it strikes me how such a vibrant community could be touched by such a senseless act of violence. It’s unsettling to think about Ferdinand's loved ones and how they must feel visiting places they once shared with him. It’s important we don't let Ferdinand's memory fade. As a community, we should be vigilant and supportive of each other. I’m hoping the ongoing efforts for information bring some clarity and justice, and most importantly, some comfort to his family who are undoubtedly suffering. If there's anything more we can do as a community to assist, I’m all for it.
