Just stumbled across this case while researching disappearances in Indiana. Does anyone else find it strange that the ex-boyfriend wouldn't let the daughter check the house or even involve the police properly? I mean, with the phone still pinging there and her car just sitting outside, it seems like a lot of red flags. If Chenell never even went inside, why was her phone still pinging at his place? Plus, finding her item a whole mile away is so bizarre. Could it be that she tried to leave him, and something happened in between these places? It's so frustrating knowing the investigation has stalled. Would love to hear anyone else's theories or similar cases with a resolution.
I’ve been following Chenell Gilbert's case pretty closely, and something that really sticks with me is the location where her personal item was found—near West Morris and South Sigsbee Streets, about a mile from the ex-boyfriend's place. That seems too coincidental, right? It's like someone might have wanted to throw off the trail there. I know investigators have stopped looking at the ex-boyfriend as a suspect, but given Chenell’s history with him, it feels like there might be more to the story. Could that area be significant for another reason, maybe something from her past? Does anyone have any insight into that neighborhood or any connections she might've had there? It just seems odd that something of hers would be found so far from where her car was left. Thoughts?
