Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about Trooper Carlos Borland's dedication and bravery, especially after learning more about his background as an Army veteran. It's such an honorable path he chose, dedicating himself to service both in the military and then again with the Nevada Highway Patrol. It's awful to think that his commitment to keeping others safe led to such a tragic end. Living two miles from the spot where this happened makes it hit a little closer to home. It's unsettling to imagine such violence occurring on a road I've driven countless times. It makes me appreciate the risks law enforcement officers take every day, putting themselves in harm's way without a second thought. My heart goes out to Trooper Borland's parents. Losing a child is one of the hardest things anyone can endure. I hope they're surrounded by love and support even after all these years. Thank you for your service, Trooper Borland. You won't be forgotten. Curious to hear if anyone’s heard updates on any memorials or events held to honor him? I think it’s so important we continue to remember the sacrifices made by those who serve our communities.
