It's hard to process the loss of people like SFC Christian Riege, who devoted their lives to protecting others. I was reading about how he not only served in the National Guard but also the Navy, and it just shows how committed he was to service. It's truly devastating to think of his kids losing such a loving father. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through, especially his fiancée, Stacia. The attack might've taken SFC Riege from them, but it also robbed everyone of the contributions he would have made. I hope events like the Carson City memorials bring some comfort, knowing the community stands with them. Has anyone on here attended any of these memorials? How has the atmosphere been? I'm interested in how the community comes together during such tough times.

The bravery and dedication of SFC Christian Riege really hit me deep. I didn’t know him personally, but hearing about his extensive service to the country and his passion for fitness and chess gives you a sense of the kind of person he was. My heart goes out to his family, especially his children and fiancée, who are dealing with unimaginable loss. Being a veteran myself, it’s so unsettling to see fellow service members become the target of such senseless violence. The fact that this atrocity took place in a familiar, everyday place like an IHOP really underscores how random and tragic these events can be. It’s troubling to think that despite his mental health struggles, Sencion was able to access and modify such a dangerous weapon. I hope we can learn from this to prevent future tragedies and better support those suffering from mental illness. Community support means a lot, and seeing Carson City come together for memorials is a testament to the victims' enduring impact. Please remember these victims; they deserve not to be forgotten.
