Has anyone else been following Michael Patton's case? I recently came across a vigil video from right after his passing, and it hit me hard. They had this moment where everyone shared their favorite memories of him, and it was gut-wrenching yet beautiful to see the love everyone had for "Polo." It seems like he was a light in so many people's lives. It's frustrating how senseless these tragedies are and how they rip through entire communities, leaving so many devastated. I just can't get over how the violence continues to claim such bright, young individuals. Has there been any update on the investigation? I hope his family gets the justice they deserve. Stay strong, Chi-town. ?

I'm deeply saddened every time I read about Michael Patton's story. I've been following similar cases, and his is one that really stands out to me not just because of where it happened, but because of who he was—the kind of person who seemed to spread joy wherever he went. It's difficult to imagine the pain his family and friends are going through. I keep wondering about the impact on the community and how they’re coping now, years later. There’s something incredibly compelling about how people remember him, sharing laughter and joy instead of sorrow and tears. It feels like such a resilient way to honor Michael, but it also highlights how this epidemic of violence robs us of those who could have shared so much more with the world. I really hope ongoing efforts can lead to real change, so that Michael’s story doesn't have to be repeated over and over again. If anyone knows more about recent initiatives in Hyde Park or similar areas, I’d love to hear how they’re doing now. Hoping for brighter days for the community and justice for Michael's family.
