I'm really saddened by the loss of Margaret and Clarence Distler. I can't stop thinking about their family who must be going through such a difficult time right now. One thing that's been on my mind is the presence of the gun holster found on their washing machine. It's chilling to think about how much thought and planning must have gone into their final decision. It makes me wonder about the state of mind they must have been in, and whether there were any missed signs that they were in such a despairing place. It's a tough reminder of how important it is for all of us to check in on our loved ones, particularly the elderly, who might be suffering in silence. Sending all my thoughts to their family and friends.
Has anyone else been pondering the significance of the location where the Distlers were found? It’s just so curious to me that they ended up behind a business complex on South Pecos Road. For those of us who might not be familiar with the area, it’s not exactly a spot you’d stumble across by accident.
I wonder if there’s something about that place which mattered to them? Maybe a place they'd passed by often in life? It just seems purposeful rather than arbitrary. The loss of Margaret and Clarence is just overwhelming, and trying to understand their last moments seems like the least we can do in honoring their memory. Given Clarence's health struggles, it makes you think about the kind of quiet decisions couples make in their later years. It’s just all so terribly sad. Thoughts?
