I've been thinking a lot about the role of first responders during the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting. Reading about what security guard Jesus Campos and maintenance worker Stephen Schuck did that night is truly inspiring amidst such a horrible event. It makes me wonder how many lives were saved because of their quick action in such a terrifying moment. Christopher Roybal and the others deserved so much more than what happened that night, but knowing there were people who acted heroically is a small comfort. It’s essential to acknowledge their bravery and efforts while continuing to support survivors and victims' families in their healing journey. How do others feel about first responders' roles during events like this? Could more be done in training and preparation for such unimaginable situations?
