Are there folks here familiar with the SNM gang's presence in New Mexico? I wonder how common it is for former members to be targeted after turning their backs or testifying against the gang. Leroy Lucero's story makes me think about the dangerous line one walks when getting involved with these groups. I feel for anyone who feels trapped in that world with no way out safely. It's chilling to think about the witnesses too, especially hearing his last words. I can't even imagine what it's like to witness something so brutal. With Padilla and Coca facing charges, maybe this can bring some sense of justice or closure for Leroy's family. The system certainly moves slowly, but the indictment sounds like progress at least. Sending strength to his loved ones during what is surely a difficult time.
