Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Diana and Joseph Hawatmeh, and something that struck me is the role Jason Bourne's mental health might have played in this tragedy. It’s incredibly devastating to hear how unpredictable and dangerous untreated mental illness can become, not just for the individual but for those around them. I can't help but wonder if there were missed opportunities for intervention before things escalated to such a catastrophic level. Why aren’t there better systems in place to ensure someone experiencing severe mental health issues gets the help they desperately need? It’s such a terrible loss for the Hawatmeh family and their community. My heart truly goes out to Yasmeen and anyone else trying to cope with the overwhelming grief and trauma from this senseless act. How are others feeling about the intersection of mental health and community safety following this event? Sending thoughts of healing to those affected...?
