It's so tragic to hear about what happened to Rodney Wilson in 2014. He was just 30 years old, and the circumstances around his death highlight the frightening reality for many living in Chicago during that time. What stands out to me is the fact that he was able to drive himself to the hospital even after being critically injured. Imagine the strength and determination it took for him to make that drive. It’s sad to think about how many lives have been impacted by violence in the city. My thoughts are with Rodney's family and loved ones as they continue to grapple with such a senseless loss. It’s evident we need more effective solutions that address not only crime but the underlying conditions contributing to it, such as poverty and unemployment. I hope we see some meaningful change in these communities soon.
