I came across the details about Special Agent S. Perry Watkins and felt compelled to share something that’s been on my mind. It's incredible to think about the courage it must have taken for Agent Watkins to confront the suspect head-on, knowing the potential threat there. His instincts to protect others were evident, and his actions undoubtedly saved lives that day. I can't help but feel for Agent Watkins' family, not just for the immense grief they must have experienced, but for the pride they must feel knowing how dedicated he was to his duty. It's a stark reminder of the dangers our law enforcement officials face every day. It also makes me wonder about the protocols and support systems in place back then for dealing with individuals with such complex and dangerous backgrounds. Could there have been different steps taken given what was known about the suspect? Such a horrible situation, but I'm thankful for the brave actions of folks like Agent Watkins who are willing to stand in harm's way.
