I've been thinking a lot about Jose Martin Aragon's case lately. It’s so tragic how things played out for him and his family, especially considering he was on the verge of becoming a father. I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of pain Daphne Perez went through, anticipating the birth of their child without Jose by her side.
What's been on my mind is the community reaction right after his murder. I grew up not far from Brighton and remember hearing about how the locals came together in support. There were vigils, fundraisers, and so much love poured out for his family. It’s heartwarming to see people come together in times of such deep sorrow. I hope that spirit of unity continues to drive someone with information to come forward.
Every anniversary must be incredibly difficult for those who loved him. I truly hope that justice is achieved, not just for his family’s sake but for the entire community that was affected by this senseless loss.
I was just revisiting some old cases and came across Jose Martin Aragon's tragic story from 2003 in Brighton, CO. It's gut-wrenching to think someone as young as 19, who was on the brink of such a major life milestone, could have it all taken away so suddenly. I was thinking about the incredible strength his wife, Daphne, must have had to muster for her and their unborn child after such a devastating loss. It's unimaginable. Has there been any recent movement on this case? It seems like the investigators have tried so hard, and I hope there's finally some breakthrough on the horizon for Jose's family. If anyone has updates or local insights, I'd really appreciate you sharing them. The innocence of that young family deserved so much more. ?
