I was just reading about Jessica Ghawi and found it so touching how much she seemed to embody the spirit of living life to its fullest. The fact that she had narrowly escaped the mall shooting in Toronto and then faced such a horrific tragedy in Colorado is beyond comprehension. It feels like such a cruel twist of fate. I've learned that her family, especially her mother, Sandy, has channeled their grief into advocacy, and it’s inspiring to see them fighting for change amidst their loss. My heart goes out to them and all the families affected by this senseless act of violence. And much respect to Brent Lowak for his bravery and quick thinking to help her. It’s a painful reminder of how precious life is and how quickly it can change. Thinking about everyone who knew and loved Jessica today.
