I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact this terrible incident has had on Rebecca’s children, Joshua and Shannon. Losing a parent in such a traumatic way is unimaginable. I can’t even begin to fathom how they must be processing everything right now. They’ve not only lost their mother, but in a sense their father too, given the circumstances. It’s so important for the community to rally around them, offering support and compassion during such a difficult time. This case really underscores the importance of reaching out to loved ones who might be struggling—more often than not, there are underlying issues no one sees until it's too late. If any of you are local to Colorado Springs, maybe we can brainstorm some ways to help or get in touch with organizations that could provide support to the family. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
