Was anyone else surprised by the age of both Dr. Robert Cull and Shirley Cull in this tragic case? In so many murder-suicide narratives, the perpetrators are often significantly younger. At 82 years old, Dr. Cull doesn't fit the typical profile we hear about. I can't help but wonder what was going on in their lives leading up to this. It's incredibly sad to think of a couple who, presumably, had shared a lifetime together and ended in such a tragic way. What drives someone to make such a devastating decision at that stage in life? My thoughts are with their family and friends who have had to come to terms with this difficult reality. Such an unfortunate end to two long lives.
Has anyone else been thinking about the kind of legacy someone like Dr. Robert Cull leaves behind after such a tragic incident? It’s strange to think about how a respected professional could be involved in something so shocking. If you knew him only as a doctor or a community figure, how do you reconcile that image with what happened? I can’t imagine the conflicting emotions for those who trusted and respected him, let alone for their family members who are now grappling with this on an incredibly personal level. It’s a lot to process, and my thoughts go out to everyone who has been touched by this tragedy. I just hope they have the support they need during such a difficult time.
Hi everyone,
I've been thinking about the lives of Dr. Robert and Shirley Cull. It's so unsettling to imagine decades of shared history ending in such tragedy. I found myself wondering about the community around them—friends, neighbors, maybe patients of Dr. Cull—who must've been in shock when they received the news. The Culls were both 82, and by then, they must've had a massive web of people who knew and cared about them. I can't help but feel for everyone who had close ties to them and now must grapple with the grim reality of their loss.
Does anyone know more about how their friends or loved ones are coping? It's always such a daunting aspect of these tragedies, how the ripple effect leaves people grappling with a mix of sorrow and unanswered questions. My heart goes out to everyone involved. How do you all process when cases like this hit so close to a community?
