I was just thinking about how crucial the role of community tips must've been in tracking down the suspects in Shawntez Kinney's case. It's such a heavy feeling knowing his life was taken so abruptly outside that liquor store. It seems like authorities needed every piece of information they could get to eventually apprehend the suspects in Chicago. It must have been incredibly difficult for his family and friends to wait for answers. We often forget how these investigations can't succeed without people coming forward and piecing things together alongside law enforcement. I really hope this case has made people more aware of the power they have to help, no matter how small the detail might seem. Our thoughts remain with Shawntez's loved ones.
