I've been thinking a lot about Pamela Marques and her family ever since that horrifying day in November. It's just so unsettling that something as ordinary as a trip to Walmart turned into such a tragic event. Pamela, along with Victor Vasquez and Carlos Moreno, should never have had their lives cut short like that. I can't even imagine the pain her family must be enduring, especially when all they probably want is some semblance of normalcy and, most importantly, justice.
I keep wondering about the aftermath for her loved ones. How do you even begin to process something so incomprehensible and senselessly violent? The legal process might be moving forward with Ostrem’s trial, but no court ruling will bring Pamela back to her family. I hope they're finding some support and comfort, despite the nightmare they must be living through. Something needs to change to prevent these tragedies from happening again and again. Thoughts and prayers just never feel like enough, do they?
I came across some details about the Thornton Walmart shooting, and I just felt compelled to talk about Pamela Marques. Being 52 and from Denver, she was probably just going about her everyday life that day. It's hard to imagine how someone could have the heart to randomly attack innocent people like that. I hope her family finds support and strength in each other during these really tough times.
I'm interested in understanding what drives these tragic events. Did anyone come across anything discussing Ostrem's potential motives or state of mind? I've read he was found competent, but these senseless acts leave me wondering what could push someone to such extremes. It just doesn't make sense to me. My thoughts are with Pamela's loved ones, and I sincerely hope they get the justice they deserve.
