Hey everyone, I'm relatively new here but have been following Aiden Lawrence's case a bit. While there's a lot of focus on suspects and the search for justice (which is super important), I've been thinking about Aiden's friends. Being just 14, Aiden would have been surrounded by classmates and buddies who are now dealing with such a sudden and unimaginable loss.
I can't begin to fathom how kids in his school are handling this grief, especially knowing someone their own age was taken from them. Schools often have counselors, but it's a heavy burden for young minds to process. It breaks my heart to imagine lockers full of reminders of him and yearbooks with messages.
I'd love to hear any thoughts on how communities or schools can better support kids in these situations. Kids need to feel safe and heard, especially with any fear they might have after such violence in their own neighborhood. Keeping Aiden's memory alive in positive ways might bring some solace to his peers. Sending love to all who knew him.
