Hey, everyone. I've been thinking a lot about Deontae M. Hoard and his promising future that was so unfairly snatched away. It's just so tragic that someone with so much potential won’t have the chance to make his mark on the world. I recently read that Deontae had been accepted to several colleges, and I can’t help but think about what his future could have looked like. It’s a devastating reminder of what the city loses each time a young life is taken. Those colleges are missing out on someone who could've contributed greatly to their community. Sending my deepest sympathies to Deontae’s family, friends, and everyone at Urban Prep Academies. Let's continue the conversation about how to prevent this kind of violence and truly honor Deontae's memory.

I’ve been following Deontae Hoard's case, and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. Today, I want to touch on how his school has reacted. Urban Prep Academies clearly valued Deontae as much more than just a student. The way they opened their doors to grief counselors and supported their students shows a real dedication to their community. It seems like there was a special memorial organized for him, which must have been incredibly moving but tough for those who knew him. Losing someone so young and full of potential is a tragedy, and it's important for schools to have these support systems in place. I hope his peers and teachers find ways to honor his memory through their actions and continue the positive impact he was poised to make.
