Hey everyone, I came across something that I just can't stop thinking about, and I wanted to share it here. It's about Rikki Olds, one of the victims from the Boulder King Soopers shooting. I recently read an article that talked about how she was always striving to make others feel valued and was known for uplifting her team. One of her co-workers mentioned how Rikki would go out of her way to start each shift by making sure everyone felt ready and positive, even if her own day wasn't going well. I can't help but think about the ripple effect people like Rikki have on those around them—it's a stark reminder of how much we lose when we lose even one bright soul. Does anyone else have more info on Rikki's contributions in and outside of work? Her story deserves to be told, and she deserves to be remembered for the light she brought into this world. It's so important that we honor these stories, so they're never forgotten. ?

I’ve been following this case closely, and I’ve been particularly struck by how the whole community has banded together to support each other, especially the families. It’s deeply touching to see the outpouring of love for Rikki Olds and the other victims. I can’t help but think about the mental health aspect of all this. Alissa’s plea of not guilty by reason of insanity adds such a complex layer to these already painful proceedings. It’s frustrating to grasp how someone with a previous arrest for violent behavior and known mental health issues was able to purchase a firearm in the first place. This makes me reflect on the broader policies and systems in place. Surely, there must be ways to strengthen background checks and ensure that firearms don’t end up in the wrong hands. It’s a daunting issue but seeing how affected the Boulder community has been, I hope it can lead to positive change and hopefully prevent such tragedies in the future. My heart truly goes out to those who knew and loved Rikki and the other victims. They deserved so much more from life and should always be remembered for the amazing individuals they were.

Has anyone else read about the jury selection process for Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa's trial? It's been dragging on and it's beyond frustrating. I can't even begin to imagine what Rikki Olds’ family is going through, having to relive this nightmare over and over as the case continues to unfold. The fact that it took more than three years just to get to this stage is hard to fathom. Justice delayed feels like justice denied, especially for someone like Rikki, who was taken from us way too soon. I've been doing some reading on the challenges with insanity pleas and how they impact trial timelines. It’s mind-boggling to me, the hoops everyone has to jump through in cases like this. Part of me understands the need for a fair process, but meanwhile, there are families out there still waiting for closure. I just hope that the legal system hasn't forgotten the voices of the victims here. Anyone else following this aspect of the trial?
