I've been following the Evergreen case with Shelley Ann Mohr and I'm really struggling with how these domestic violence situations can spiral into such tragedy. It's haunting to think about the moments leading up to something like this — did she see it coming? Was there anywhere left for her to turn? It feels like we keep losing people to the same heartbreaking cycle, and it's so frustrating. I can't stop thinking about her friends and family. They're left coping with such a senseless loss and all the questions that might never get answers. It's maddening that even in what seems like a close-knit community, domestic violence can stay so hidden. Hoping these conversations keep happening, even though they hurt to have, so that maybe awareness saves someone else down the line.
