I've been following the case of Lane Ortiz closely since it happened, and I can't stop thinking about how difficult this must be for Lane's family right now. I hope they are surrounded by support in this tough time.
Something that’s been on my mind is the location of the incident in Fort Wingate. It’s a relatively small community, and I wonder if that aspect both helps and hinders the investigation. On one hand, you would think there aren't many places to hide or many people who could escape notice. But on the other hand, small-town dynamics can sometimes complicate things, with folks being hesitant to come forward or say what they know.
Has anyone heard anything about whether there were surveillance cameras nearby or if they’ve been able to glean anything useful from those? With technology these days, I imagine even the smallest detail from a camera could provide a significant lead. Sending thoughts of strength to Lane's loved ones and hoping for much-needed answers soon.
