Has anyone looked into the old newspaper archives for any potential leads on the Peat Meadow murders? I can’t imagine the trauma the community must have felt back in 1908, losing two officers like that, especially over something as senseless as hay theft. I was thinking that maybe there’s something overlooked in the coverage from that time. Back then, local papers often reported vivid details and, sometimes, gossip from the streets. Even though it's frustrating that no one was brought to justice, perhaps we might find a piece of the puzzle in those forgotten papers. Any local historians around who might have seen something intriguing? It's appalling that their families never saw closure, and maybe digging into the small details could shed new light on this unsolved tragedy.
