Hey everyone,
I’ve been diving deep into the Blackfriars Massacre lately, and one thing that's always stuck out to me is the sad, almost eerie, detail of the backgammon game. It’s chilling to think that Charles Magarian and the others were simply spending their evening playing a game that requires strategy and focus, likely oblivious to the danger that was about to unfold.
It makes me wonder about the human side of things—what these men were thinking and how unsuspecting they were of the events that would transpire. Magarian, from North Andover, was really young at 37, and finding any information about his life outside of this tragedy isn't easy. I can’t help but think about his friends and family, how they must have been devastated to lose someone in such a senseless and brutal way.
Does anyone else feel struck by the simple details of the evening? It’s such a stark reminder of how quickly life can change, and how these moments deserve to be remembered for the people involved, not just the crime itself.
Let me know your thoughts and if you’ve come across anything about the lives of these men before the tragedy.
