Hey everyone, just wanted to share some thoughts and perhaps get a conversation started about the impact of witness silence in cases like Charles D. Lewis’s tragic death. It’s so hard to imagine what his family must be going through right now. The fact that many witnesses are often hesitant to come forward really makes it difficult for justice to be served. Many of these communities are caught in a vicious cycle of fear and mistrust, making it tough for law enforcement to get the information they need. I completely understand why witnesses might be scared, especially in areas where retaliation is a real threat. How do we even begin to bridge this gap and ensure that people feel safe enough to speak out? Would love to hear thoughts or stories from those who might have experienced similar situations. We need to hold these conversations if we ever hope to see change.
