I've been following the case of David Wood's tragic death in Roxbury, and something that's been on my mind is the impact on the kids at Trotter Elementary School. It's truly unsettling to think about the lockdown and how terrifying it must have been for those young students and their teachers. The school is meant to be a safe haven, not a place where real-world violence intrudes. As the community rallies to support the Wood family, I hope there's also ongoing support and resources for the kids who might be struggling to process what happened so close to where they learn and play. ? It’s a hard reminder of how violence reaches beyond its immediate victims, affecting everyone in the vicinity.

Anyone else here worried about the impact this will have on the children who were at Trotter Elementary School during the lockdown? I can't imagine how terrifying and confusing it must have been for them. I hope the school is providing some form of counseling or support to help the kids process what happened. It's so troubling that violence like this is happening so close to a place where children are supposed to feel safe. My heart goes out to David Wood's family, but also to the parents and teachers who have to navigate through this. Does anyone have any information on what kind of measures the school or community is taking to address this and support the kids?
