Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the selfless bravery that officers like Deputy Sheriff David Foster show when responding to domestic disturbance calls. It's just so horrifying to realize that what seemed like a routine response could end in such tragedy. Heading into those situations, they never truly know what awaits them, yet they go because it's their duty to protect and serve. Foster's courage in that moment, knowing the risks but prioritizing the safety of others, deserves immense respect. What struck me most while reading about the case was the way the community of Gold Beach came together to honor Deputy Foster every year. It really highlights how deeply he impacted those around him. It must be so difficult for his family, especially his wife and four kids, but I hope they're able to find some comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the community he loved so much. I would love to hear from anyone in Curry County about how they remember Deputy Foster or if there are stories about him that have been shared over the years. Stay safe, everybody.
