Is anyone else struggling to understand the real motivation behind Carolyn's actions? I've been diving deep into the whole case and can’t help but feel conflicted about the stories we're hearing. Having a loved one facing severe health challenges must be incredibly taxing. But to go from claiming self-defense to mercy killing? It seems like a very stark shift in her narrative, and I wonder what was going through her mind during those crucial moments. It's also hard to ignore the long, tumultuous history they had. A restraining order in the past hints at a relationship marred by fear and conflict, making everything even murkier. Erwin's struggle with blindness and dementia surely made his life hard enough already. I just wish he had found peace in a less tragic way. Sending thoughts to Erwin’s family and those left grappling with the aftermath. What's everyone else's take on Carolyn's motives? Is this an act of desperation or something else entirely?

I can't stop thinking about the timeline discrepancies in Carolyn's statements. When she first called 911, she claimed self-defense, but then later changes it to a mercy killing. It makes me wonder about the truth behind her intentions. Did her fear from past experiences with Erwin cloud her judgment? I mean, they divorced over alleged violence, so there was obviously some history there. I'm also curious about what the relationship was like between 2009, when she filed the restraining order, and 2010, when they actually divorced. It's just tragic that things led to this end. My thoughts are with Erwin's family, trying to make sense of this. Does anyone know if there were any witnesses or if they were completely alone?
