Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Abdushukri Uren's death in Portland and it's just weighing heavily on my mind. I can't help but think about the ripple effect this has on Uren's loved ones and the community. The fact that this happened during a rolling gun battle is terrifying and shows the chaotic environment that unfolded that day. Something that really sticks with me is the sheer number of people affected by these violent incidents. We see a statistic like "36th homicide involving a firearm" and it's easy to forget that these numbers represent real lives—families torn apart, communities living in fear, and neighborhoods stripped of their safety. I just can't imagine what Abdushukri’s family is going through, waiting for some form of closure or justice without any arrests or suspects announced. It's got to be frustrating and incredibly painful. Let’s try to keep the conversation around this active and maybe someone somewhere might have information that could help shed light on this case. Anyone else have thoughts or insights on what might be going on with the investigation? And, how can we as a community better support those affected by gun violence?
