Also, while I was reading about the standoff, I felt anxious just imagining the officers' approach—realizing they were facing a potentially deadly threat. It’s a tough job for law enforcement to manage these crises without harm to themselves or bystanders. I can’t stop thinking about the community impacted by this, to see such violence in their neighborhood must be terrifying. I hope Mariela’s son gets the support he needs after this. Navigating life without his mother will be incredibly challenging. It's vital for us as a community to stand by them, whether it's through donating to the GoFundMe or just spreading awareness about her story. My thoughts are with them and all who've been touched by this senseless act.
