I was just reading about the unfortunate incident involving Jason Edward Kinsfather at the Parkrose 7-Eleven, and it made me think deeply about the role of local businesses in ensuring community safety. It’s truly sad to see the Kinsfather family going through this immense pain, and their decision to file a lawsuit against the store owner speaks volumes about their search for justice and accountability. With the alarming number of homicides in Portland last year, I wonder if enough is being done by these businesses to protect their patrons, especially in areas that might be more prone to violence. It's unfortunate that it takes a devastating loss like this to potentially spark change in how security is managed. My heart goes out to Jason's loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. I can only imagine the frustration and sorrow they must be feeling, not just because of this senseless act, but also in their fight to ensure no other family goes through such a tragedy.
