In early 2005, a family's life was irrevocably changed when 22-year-old Taurean Trent Perkins, known to his loved ones as Trent, vanished. The exact date of his disappearance is uncertain, compounding the family's anguish. He was last seen in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, after returning home from work and spending time with friends. It was unusual for Trent, who was known to keep in regular, often daily, contact with his family, even while working offshore, to be out of touch for an extended period.
