I’ve been thinking a lot about the safety protocols in place when transferring prisoners back in the late 70s and how they might have contributed to the tragic loss of Trooper Bruce Brown. It’s hard not to wonder if things might have been different if more stringent measures or support were there during these transfers. It’s a tough job that these officers have, constantly walking into situations where the threat to their lives is so immediate and real. Knowing that Trooper Brown gave his life trying to protect others is a testament to his bravery and dedication. My heart truly goes out to his family, especially his daughters, who grew up without him. I hope our discussions here can shed light on what happened that day and perhaps contribute to the continued improvement of safety for those on the force.
