I can’t even begin to imagine the fear she felt, not only for her own safety but also for her husband’s life. And then there's the law enforcement side – those officers had to make split-second decisions, fully aware of the tragic weight those decisions carry. It's important to remember there's no easy way forward in these kinds of situations – domestic disturbances call for a cautious balance between protecting victims and dealing with individuals who are unstable and possibly armed. My heart goes out to all those affected by this tragedy, especially the family left to pick up the pieces. I hope they eventually find a path to healing and peace.
